BIO
Gabriele Ermini
Gabriele Ermini (Figline Valdarno, 1996) lives and works in Bologna.
After a three-year academic diploma in Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence (2020), he completed his studies by earning a degree in Visual Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna in 2024.
Primarily interested in painting, with a focus on the specificity of the medium and its limitations, Gabriele Ermini’s research is on an avowedly figurative line. The digital and graphic matrix of the works leads to the construction of an image whose rendering conceals the process and pictorial solutions that determine it. The subject often arises as a pure pretext for the pictorial making, ceding importance to the other elements of the composition, trying to mature and maintain a formal research in battle with the rhetoric of painting.
