Biography and Statement
My artistic practice revolves around a deep curiosity to understand the world, interpreting it as a web of interconnected and evolving ideas. Born in Burgas, Bulgaria in 1990 and currently living in Venice, I consider painting a journey into the layered mysteries of reality, where poetry and science meet. My education in Visual Arts and Pedagogy in Sofia, followed by an MA in Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice, shaped my approach to art as a dynamic exploration, a process of revealing both inner and universal landscapes. In my work, I am drawn to moments of transformation, those ‘invisible thresholds’ that we cross in thought, experience or imagination. I often depict non-existent places or invisible subjects, visible only in a hypnagogic state, such as dreams or fleeting sensory experiences. Each work I create is both a structured and organic composition, reflecting a process that weaves together experience and conceptual exploration. I frequently seek to evoke a sense of immersive complexity, a layered chromatic harmony that reveals new connections within our perceptions and the environments that surround us. My approach is a fusion of rigorous observation and a respect for the fluid and evolving nature of creativity itself.
