Aronne Pleuteri
Aronne Pleuteri (Erba, 2001)
He currently lives in Milan, where he completed his studies at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts. One of the finalists of the 23rd edition of the prestigious Cairo Prize, Pleuteri is the youngest artist to have joined the Iannaccone Collection. Despite his young age, his work has already established itself in important museum contexts, demonstrating a maturity and conscious approach to his artistic practice.
His artistic language is developed through various media, including performance, music, video art and painting – in a constant dialogue between irony and critical reflection – placing universal themes such as embarrassment, absurdity and confrontation with social conventions at the centre of his research. These issues, explored through scenic compositions in which the subject is disrupted from its conventional order, become a way to reposition one’s perception of the world and individual experiences in the social and cultural context.
For Pleuteri, the essence of life is an ironic game, a sort of existential joke whose apparent seriousness can be continually re-dimensioned through the reinterpretation of the shaky structures that govern everyday life, proposing a vision that is nourished by lightness and profound self-mockery.
