Mattia Barbieri

Mattia Barbieri (Brescia, 1985) lives and works between Milan and New York.

Mattia Barbieri graduated in Visual Arts from the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera. Since 2006, he has exhibited in solo and group shows in Italy and abroad. In 2010, he participated in the Moscow Biennale at the Winzavod Contemporary Art Center; in 2012, he won the First Prize for Painting at the Museum of Lissone; during Expo Milano 2015, he collaborated with the Progetto Città Ideale, exhibiting and curating a series of artistic events at the Sala delle Colonne of the Fabbrica del Vapore in Milan; his solo shows at Pablo’s Birthday in New York took place in 2017 and 2019, and in 2022, he held Santuario Tropìcal at Galleria Rizzuto. He has participated in numerous international awards, residencies, and curatorial projects. Barbieri has exhibited in both public and private spaces in Italy and abroad, including: Spazio Contemporanea and Palazzo Martinengo in Brescia; Rizzuto Gallery, Palermo; Studio la linea Verticale, Bologna; Pablo’s Birthday Gallery and The Border, New York; Fondazione del Monte, Bologna; MAC (Museo Arte Contemporanea) in Lissone; Winzavod Art Center, Moscow; Federico Luger Gallery, Milan, and many more. He is an active member of the art magazine E IL TOPO.
